Gary Ames has an MBA and a Masters degree in psychology. He became a
licensed psychologist in 1994.
He started learning and teaching biofeedback in the 1970s. After
a college teaching career, he became an executive coach in 1984 and has
worked closely with well over 1000 managers, professionals and executives
in all industries.
A common focus of Gary Ames' career consulting work was to evoke from
clients their best work. Internalizing strengths and articulating a clear
message is the best foundation for marketing. He worked closely with clients
on all aspects of their job campaign until they were in a new career position.

Marvin Berman, Ph.D.

Marvin Berman, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and President of the
Quietmind Foundation,
a research and training organization devoted to bringing brainwave biofeedback
into the mainstream of behavioral health care in the USA, particularly
with regard to enhancing the treatment of Alzheimers Disease (AD),
closed head injury and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
in children and adults. He is conducting pioneering research in the Delaware
Valley and continues to develop models for understanding these neurological
disorders. His most recent studies for the Philadelphia Office of Mental
Health demonstrated the value of brainwave biofeedback training as a treatment
method for children with ADHD and conduct disorder.
Dr. Berman directs the Quietmind Foundations research activities
including studies of how brainwave biofeedback training can reduce the
stress of caregivers and cognitive and behavioral symptoms of people with
Alzheimers dementia. His current research has been funded by the
prestigious Helen Bader Foundation and the Wings Foundation. This innovative
study seeks to assess an approach to reducing the rate of cognitive deterioration
in people struggling with Alzheimers disease could be a significant
opportunity to help both AD patients and caregivers. He is a consultant
and regular presenter at local AD family support groups and conferences.
Dr. Berman is an innovator in the area of multi-media training having
developed the first interactive video-based intervention skills training
system for counselors and supervisors working with mentally ill chemical
abusing clients. This internationally acclaimed program has been reviewed
in the Journal of the American Psychiatric Association as a significant
contribution to the training of staff and supervors working with this
population.
Dr. Berman has consulted with NY, NJ, PA, WV Depts. of Mental Health
that are using his training methods and technology to upgrade their service
delivery systems to better service this subgroup of clients. Currently,
Dr. Berman is training consultant to the State of New Jerseys Division
of Mental Health Services on the development of new applications of interactive
multi-media technology to the training of direct care staff working with
the seriously mentally ill.
Dr. Berman is an individual group psychotherapist with a Ph.D. in Group
and Organizational Development and Training and an M.Ed. in Psychological
Studies in Education and maintains a private psychotherapy and brainwave
biofeedback practice in Lafayette Hill, PA working with adults, adolescents,
couples and groups. Dr. Berman is a founding member and Vice-President
of the Philadelphia Center for Organizational Dynamics an affiliate chapter
of the A. K. Rice Institute.
